IIT-BHUB COLLABORATED WITH AMRI HOSPITAL TO ORGANISE PREVENTIVE HEALTH CAMP

The students, faculty, officers, staff, and their dependants were checked by a team consisting of General Medicine Specialist, Gynaecologist, Paediatrician and Orthopedic from AMRI Hospitals

The Medical Unit of IIT-Bhubaneswar organized a medical camp in collaboration with AMRI Hospitals Bhubaneswar to offer comprehensive medical care to its students, staff, and their dependants, ensuring their wellbeing. The camp was organized at the Community Centre located at the IIT-Bhubaneswar campus.

The initiative, launched by the medical unit of the institute, which was headed by Dr MA Khan, in collaboration with AMRI Hospitals, was appreciated by Prof. RV Raja Kumar, Director, IIT-Bhubaneswar. Speaking on the occasion, he pointed out that the students, faculty, officers, and staff members, including their dependants, often neglect their own health owing to their busy work schedules and have little time for personal commitments.

At this juncture, the decision to organise the medical camp by IIT Bhubaneswar was in the best interest of students and the staff. Prof. Raja Kumar said that the Institute believes that this programme includes a timely preventive health check-up and it can help to minimize health risks and contribute towards creation of a healthy society.

The students, faculty, officers, staff and their dependants were checked by a team consisting of specialists in general medicine, gynaecology, paediatrics and orthopedics from AMRI Hospitals. A series of tests such as Random Blood Sugar, ECG and BMD (Bone Mineral Density), ECG and Eye Check Up were also undertaken between 9 am to 2 pm.

The medical camp served the purpose as it witnessed active participation from a total of 250 students, faculty members, institute officials and other staff
